Interesting points to visit at our Biome!
Bald Eagle Nests-
I bet you did not know that... The record for the largest bald eagle nest is held by a nest in Florida that was 6.1 meters deep, 2.9 meters wide, and weighed 2,722 kg (almost 3 tons)! Compare that nest size to the average size of a bedroom and it gives you a pretty good picture of how large that is. Most Bald Eagles reuse their nests for years and years, even sometimes passing them down to the next generation! Check out our link to a Bald Eagle nest cam.!- http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles |
Deciduous-
I bet you did not know that... The word "deciduous" is Latin, and means, "falling off of". The leaves that you see changing color and dropping from the trees are the reasons behind this name. |
|
Oceans-
I bet you did not know that... All the worlds deciduous forests are located near the ocean! The ocean plays a major role in the temperate climate of these forests. |
|
Humans-
I bet you might have known that... Humans live in the temperate region more than any other region of the world. But we are slowly destroying the biome we live in through pollution and foresting. |
